What To Bring With You

Clothing:-

Generally there is no need for other than casual and serviceable clothes
such as T-shirts and shorts or jeans. Try to bring clothes that are crush
resistant as hanging space is limited.

A tracksuit and/or jumper is advisable for the cooler evenings.

Only a limited amount of wet-weather gear is available on the boat so you
should bring with you a raincoat and/or a light windbreak jacket for
comfort during most wet or windy times either on the boat or for going
ashore.

A sun hat is essential, preferably with a chin-strap to keep from blowing
into the bay.

Deck shoes or white-soled joggers are the best footwear for on board but
bare feet are quite OK if you desire.

Bring serviceable joggers for walking over island tracks or into towns.

On rare occasions we may need to launch the dinghy over a sharp-stoned
beach so some footwear that can get wet could be handy, such as a pair of
plastic sandals, crocs or light sandshoes.

Baggage:-

Keep baggage brought onto the boat to a minimum as storage space on board
is not unlimited. Avoid rigid suitcases. Soft bags will fold away and stow
more easily once unpacked.

A small backpack is handy to take items such as camera, towel, water flask
etc on your excursions ashore. Have a good quality plastic bag or similar
inside the backpack to keep the contents dry when in the bottom of the
dinghy.

Other things to
bring:-

Don't forget your passport if you are from outside NZ.

Sunscreen is advisable as you can get burnt from the sun above as well as
from its reflections off the water.

Bring a spectacles strap to secure your reading or sun-glasses and prevent
them from being accidentally lost overboard.

Bring swimming togs and a beach towel. Also a separate small towel is
useful to dry your feet before putting on your shoes after going ashore in
the dinghy.
Don’t forget your camera.
